This sounds super for showers, birthdays for tweens through adults, team building exercises and parents’ nights out. There is a separate, gorgeous room for group events and private parties at Muse Gaithersburg. No prior painting experience other than home crafts with the kids or olden days of finger painting in kindergarten are necessary. It was easy to hear the lead artist on her headset microphone as she guided us in which brushes and strokes to use, how to blend colors and and more. They provide the canvas, paint, brushes, apron and of course, trained artists to guide your painting. Muse supplies all you need to create your masterpiece. Tammy and I enjoyed wine and split some French bread pizza and spinach and feta cheese phyllo bites in lieu of eating sensible dinners with our families. Muse Paintbarjust opened its Gaithersburg location at the RIO Washingtonian on July 1st it has been a roaring success. But recently my Ross-ian dreams came true thanks to a night at Muse Paintbar Gaithersburg with my dear friend Jeep Momma Tammy. It was my first time ever with acrylic paint. As a kid, I used to love watching Bob Ross on “The Joy of Painting.” I never got around to convincing my parents to purchase for me the canvases, brushes and paints that he used in order to emulate his happy little trees, mountains and clouds. But that wasn't an issue at all, he simply extended the break so we could finish our food.Īll in all, it was a very refreshing and enjoyable outside-of-the-box experience for me. I could also observe that the instructor did not factor in the birthday festivities in his plan. BTW, it appeared it was not part of the deal for Muse Paintbar to orchestrate birthday parties, but the place does provide a table where we can place the food and drink. We used these breaks to celebrate my niece's birthday party with food, drink and cake. There's also optional LED light ($5 fee) behind the canvas to help project the outline of the intended painting, There were multiple breaks during the session to allow for the paint to dry before applying another layer. The subject was already chosen by my niece and we were provided step by step group instructions from start to finish. It's been decades since I painted, but that's not an issue at all because we were given all kinds of help. In the back is the bar that serves wine and beer which obviously we did not get to utilize for the birthday party. The rooms are partitioned using glass panels, so the entire place felt very big and open. The ambiance felt so out of ordinary and artsy, certainly very conducive to "musing"! The big public painting area is at the front, with 2 smaller private painting rooms adjacent to it. The place was full of dazzling art work and the vast array of easels alone would be enough to impress. I was impressed the moment we walked in and had to pause to soak it all in. 3 years ago We were here for my niece's birthday party.
